Our customers run equipment that can't sit idle. Here's the kind of work we do for each of them.
Leduc sits in the heart of Alberta's oil patch, and the energy sector has been a core customer since day one. We cut the herringbone gears and pinions that drive pump jack gearboxes, including high- and low-speed sets for Taro 160 units, and machine tail bearing assemblies, down-hole impellers and drilling pipe die blocks.
When a part breaks during seeding or harvest, waiting weeks for a dealer isn't an option. We make drive gears, splined shafts, couplings and bushings for farm equipment, often working straight from the broken part. We've also built forage and silage sampler drive handles and prototypes, knurled sampling-tool parts, and custom scraper blades for field disc equipment.
Herringbone gears were made for high-load, shock-load drives like those found on conveyors, crushers and processing equipment. We cut replacement gears and pinions, bore large V-belt pulleys for rock crushers, and machine the wear parts that keep material moving.
Plants, mills and processing facilities rely on gearboxes and drivetrains that may be decades old. We rebuild them with new gears, pinions, splined shafts and couplings, including components for equipment that's no longer supported. Past work includes custom rotary hydraulic control valves, splined hydraulic couplings, carbon brush holders, and copper contacts for a 1940s freight elevator.
Pipeline and underground-utility work needs big, tough components. We've used the full swing of our lathes to machine large positive-displacement pipeline meter housings, and built heavy pipe-bursting tools designed to split 10" pipe for trenchless replacement.
Manufacturers and other machine shops send us the work their own equipment can't handle: herringbone and spline cutting, wire and sinker EDM, and overflow CNC turning. We've wire-EDMed custom solid-carbide grooving inserts, built laser-cladding fixtures, and engraved custom workholding and tooling.
